life update.

Sorry for the lack of updates. But life is finally falling into place.

House - check.
Girlfriend - check.
Girlfriend gets good job - check.
I get good job - check.
All our family together - check.
Love - double check.

I just got done signing paperwork for a new job working for the College’s Alumni office. I’ll be working with their website, their newsletter, and I’ll be going places to do stuff for their Alumni weekends. I start work on Monday morning, forty hours a week, full time, minimum wage. It’s great.

Other than that, I keep plugging along on getting my website stuff together and yesterday I finished my writing resume (I’m still working on a design resume). Hopefully I’ll be able to get a lot more done during the long weekend and I’ll have my website up and running with the portfolio up as well. Good luck to me.

Right now, I’m going to go paint. Ta.

Dance!

Just to make you smile.

What a lucky guy. Wish I could travel the world just to dance.

Firefox 3.0

Firefox 3 was released the other day and I finally just got around to downloading. As a first impression, I’m not sure I like it. The browser is suppose to be streamline in its design, but I actually find it cluttered without the definition of individual rows (the commands, the navigation bar, and the bookmarks toolbar are right on top of each other, no longer separated with an indented line as in the previous Firefox). It bothers me that they all look smooshed together. Maybe it’s the OCD in me, but I’d rather they didn’t touch (as opposed to the food on my plate that I mix together all the time).

One of the most annoying things I’ve found so far is typing in URL in the address bar (the new “Awesome Bar”). This brings up previously looked at sites, of course, but with Firefox 3, it also brings up information about the site, all crammed together - another cluttered mess. The idea of having information right there is in the right place, but the way Mozilla implemented it doesn’t work right and just makes it incredibly hard to read. I’m hoping that the bugs in this will get worked out, because finding previously looked at sites with just one word is, in theory, really cool. It just doesn’t look the best right now.

And though it’s really no fault to the new release, I’m also annoyed because many of my Add-ons are not compatible with the new version. I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll be updated soon with something that works.

This is, of course, just a first impression as I only downloaded it last night. Maybe it’ll grow on me and I’ll learn to love it as I find new gems in the browser (I have yet to find any). I don’t know, maybe I’m just adverse to change. I miss the old Firefox with it’s simplicity.

What do you think?

New House, a Bunny, and still Unemployed.

I really need a job. I was suppose to get a call by noon on whether or not I got a job but since it’s 11:41, I doubt I got it. This sucks. I’m slowly starting to freak out about it.

We’re all moved into the new house - all four of us, and the kids. It’s still a mess, with boxes still covering the majority of the floors, but it’s getting better. It’s a really nice place, even if the kitchen is incredibly small for four people and a dog all at once - but what kitchen isn’t, come to think of it. Oh well. It’s home. For now.

Yesterday, we went and checked out a bunny that someone was trying to get rid of and ended up taking him home with us. He’s not technically ours, he belongs to Pan, one of our housemates, but I’m already really attached. We’ve started calling him Maxwell and it seems to suit him. I gave him a box with some newspaper in it and he got to work shredding it all fairly quickly. Man, I love rabbits. They are such good cuddlers.

Okay, off to clean more of the house.

No Longer Homeless!

Well we’ve found a place, finally. We’re really happy about it, and hopefully we’ll start moving in sometime during the next few days. Now we’ve just gotta find jobs. We’re all working on that, and we’ve applied at a few places. I had a phone interview yesterday for a Library page position, but she had other applicants, so I’m not sure if I’ll get it. I dropped off two more applications yesterday, so hopefully I’ll get a call back. Wish me luck.

In other news, there really isn’t any. I haven’t been able to work much on webstuff, but I have been drawing more on my Tegaki E, and Ash got one too (which is linked from mine if you want to see her adorable art). So that keeps us entertained.

Our housemate left for the weekend, so I’m going to go attack my sweet Ash and sweep her off her feet. Ta!
